I wish to express my gratitude for many healings I have received through Christian Science, which has been my only physician for more than twenty years.
A healing of bronchial pneumonia was so outstanding to me that I should like to tell of it here. At the time this healing occurred I was staying with a member of my family who is very dependent on materia medica and especially fearful of pneumonia. Some time before this he had told me that I might have any treatment I wished should I need it while staying in his home. So when I needed help I called a practitioner and during her first visit explained the situation to her. She said: "Now this is the time to stand for the absoluteness of Science, and it is an opportunity to prove the power of Love. We must know that this house is filled with Love's ever-presence and that all those in it will benefit by the experience." The entire household, including nurses who were not Christian Scientists, co-operated most willingly, and in due time the healing was made manifest. During this period the words of our hymns were very helpful to me, especially the verse from Mrs. Eddy's "Christmas Morn" (Poems, p. 29), beginning,
"Thou gentle beam of living Love,
And deathless Life!"
