I Know Now

From the January 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I know now
That angel thoughts are near.
I used to wonder if the testing time might come
And the letter—yes, but not the spirit—appear.
Oh, blessed Truth, I'll never doubt again,
For I called—the darkness fled,
And I was face to face with Him.

Let mortal senses shout their lies;
I know they are not true.
I thought it hard to hear God's voice
Above their earthly din.
It is not hard—it is a joy to rise above all sin
And hear the still small voice proclaim
That peace is mine for all eternity.
