THE NOWNESS OF TRUTH

From the January 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

IT makes no difference what the human problem calls itself; a right solution is available now, today, at this moment. For harmony is permanent, total, timeless, and ever present.

Mary Baker Eddy repeatedly calls attention to the nowness of Truth in her writings. On pages 470 and 471of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" she declares, "The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history."

Stressing further the immediacy of Truth, Mrs. Eddy asserts (ibid., p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." It should be noted that the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science does not say there will be "no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter" at some future date, or that there has been no such condition. Mrs. Eddy asserts categorically that there is no inharmony.
