From the November 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If I could enumerate all the blessings that Christian Science has brought into my life in the last twenty years, they would fill a volume. But this I can tell, that it has healed all kinds of diseases, made our home a happier, more harmonious place, given us the right concept of supply, and enriched our lives in many ways.

When I turned to God so long ago, I was a morose, moody, pessimistic person. That has all been changed, and while it was not the work of a minute, the added years have brought so much happiness that gratitude is a constant companion; and as we know, "Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 3).

Our five sons grew up with a minimum of illness, and any sickness that did manifest itself was always quickly overcome. Three of the boys were divinely cared for and protected during their service in the war, and I made many demonstrations over fear and separation. "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (ibid., p. 494).
