The desire to tell of my appreciation and love for Christian Science has been uppermost in my thoughts for some time.
I wish to begin with gratitude to God for membership in The Mother Church. Early in my study of Christian Science I realized that every bit of progress made in Christian Science comes through obedience to the Church Manual. I am grateful that I have had the opportunities for growth offered by membership in a branch church and by class instruction.
During a period of many years, business and financial problems and physical disorders have been met through the application of this final revelation of Truth. My first healing was of a nervous breakdown. In a few short months after taking up the study of Christian Science and asking for help from a practitioner, I was lifted from despair and a desire to take my own life to normalcy and health. A growth on my eye was removed by my mentally reversing the prediction made by an eye specialist that this growth would spread across the eye, obstructing the vision completely. I held to the truth of the statement in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 419), "If disease moves, mind, not matter, moves it; therefore be sure that you move it off," and made a systematic and obedient study of the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. The growth disappeared in a very short time. A chronic hemorrhoidal condition disappeared with two weeks' treatment by a practitioner. An instantaneous healing of headache came about through the truth realized when I repeated "the scientific statement of being" as found on page 468of Science and Health.
