About thirty years ago a friend told me of Christian Science. One of the things she said was that it would meet my every need when rightly applied. Through my reading Science and, Health by Mrs. Eddy, and with earnest, sincere prayer, the problem of lack was overcome. I am very grateful for this demonstration, for through it I became an ardent student of this great religion.
About twenty years ago I was healed of sinus trouble, with the help of a faithful practitioner. The healing has been permanent. Several years later, when I awakened one morning, I was not able to move because of a terrible pain. My daughter called a practitioner and told him of the condition, and his reply was, "Aren't we glad that this is not true about man?" That remark made me realize that he saw the nothingness of the lie. That alone destroyed my fear, and I was healed.
At another time I suffered with severe pain in my back. I went about my daily chores, trying to do my mental work, but by five o'clock in the afternoon the pain was so overpowering that I could not walk. I called a practitioner, who said, "It can be met right now." I managed to get to bed and fell asleep, and half an hour later I arose completely healed.
More recently I suffered from a nervous breakdown with its attendant physical difficulties, which seemed to take on a new phase of pain each day. This healing took several months, but through my increased study and renewed consecration to Truth, one by one the difficulties were overcome. I am grateful for the loving help from a practitioner, who inspired me to search the Scriptures and Mrs. Eddy's works more diligently. Through this I learned to imbibe more of the spirit, and not merely the letter. A better understanding of the truth resulted in a complete healing. Many small faults of character were done away with at this time. These are just a few of the many healings I have had through the application of the Christ, Truth.
For the wonderful privilege of class instruction, for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, for the lectures our Leader has made provision for, and for the periodicals I am deeply grateful. For the example of our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and for our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I feel a gratitude beyond expression.— Hollywood, California.
