Although I have studied Christian Science for thirty years, this is the first testimony I have submitted. This Science met our need at the births of five children. The doctor, required by law at the birth of our first son, pronounced the child afflicted with curvature of the spine. The condition was wholly overcome through Christian Science treatment. This son served as a marine and saw action at Okinawa.
During the years of the children's upbringing, many problems presented themselves. Chicken pox, measles, mumps, tonsillitis, infections, boils, eczema, and many other discordant conditions were all overcome in Christian Science. In a home where income was meager and five children needed food and clothing, Christian Science was a present help, meeting all human needs; and it is still caring for our home.
The lectures have been a great source of inspiration and help through these years. Affiliation with The Mother Church and a branch church has been something to lean upon, when there was a need. The current literature has many a day come to show me the way. Also, the activities of a Christian Science Society have helped to keep me actively about the Father's business. I am grateful for the practitioners, who have so faithfully stood by us over a period of years. I am also thankful for class instruction, which has taught me how to work out many problems for myself, whereas I used to have to depend so much on a practitioner.
