"Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people" (I Chron. 16:8). The reading of this verse inspired me to "make known" the many blessings that have come to us through the study of Christian Science, presented to us over twenty years ago.
This truth has brought us "through the valley of the shadow of death." My husband was given but fifteen minutes to live after exhausting the skill of three physicians. A severe case of kidney stones had rendered him unconscious for seven hours. The family had gathered together because of the critical condition. A sister-in-law, who was a Christian Scientist, refused to accept the picture and went off to pray.
Christian Science was something new to me, and when I was asked if I would try it, since all else had failed, I agreed. A practitioner was called, and she asked that I read Isaiah 41:10-13 from the Bible, which I did and found great comfort and release from fear. In a very short time the patient became conscious and steadily improved, until he was completely healed.
