GOD'S KINGDOM INTACT NOW

From the May 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

ONE of the meaningful words wisdom gave to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, with which to convey to mankind Mind's revelation of the Science of being was "intact." It means "untouched by anything that harms; unimpaired; left entire."

Christian Science reveals and insists that God's kingdom, wherein is man, is intact now. Religion in general has not seen this fact. It has succumbed to the insistent argument of mortal mind—alias the material senses—claiming that the material, or mortal, sense of life, creation, and man is presently real and that if there is another and better order of being it must be regarded as belonging to the unfathomable future. Just how what is regarded as presently real can ever be resolved into unreality and be supplanted by a better form of reality is a question for which scholastic theology offers no adequate answer. There is none.

Certainly God must be forever intact, untouchable by aught that would harm. The oneness of God accomplishes this. Infinite, self-existent Mind by its own infinitude inherently clothes itself in security and unimpairableness. Deific intelligence would forthwith lose its deific quality of supremacy were there another power that could at some time, or on some pretext, encroach upon its universality or contest its allness.
