Testimonies of Healing

It is with much gratitude I give this testimony...

From the May 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with much gratitude I give this testimony of what Christian Science means to me. I know there is no problem too great or too small to be worked out by the realization that man is perfect, made in the image of God. Christian Science has taught me that God is Love, and that the good He bestows is discerned through right thinking.

I did not take up the study of this Science for physical healing, but because I wanted more than other churches seemed able to give. I was brought up in an orthodox religion, but had never found comfort or satisfaction in it because it offered no logical explanation of God and the universe. I wandered in a maze, reading literature on various subjects in the hope of finding that for which I was seeking, but I sought in vain; always I came up against the same barrier, that man must have faith in that which could not be explained.

Then one day Christian Science came into my life. We had moved to a small town in Wyoming, and I felt a great desire to attend a church, but not the one to which I belonged. One Sunday morning, over twenty-four years ago, I started for church, not knowing which one I should attend, but on the way I decided to go to the Christian Science church. I did not seem to get anything from the reading, but there was something about that simple service, held in a little hall in the business part of the town, which appealed to me.
