[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, April 10, 1948]

Notices

From the May 1948 issue of The Christian Science Journal

As recently announced in the Christian Science Sentinel and The Christian Science Journal, a Radio Fund has been established through which individual Christian Scientists, branch Churches of Christ, Scientist, and Christian Science Societies may share with The Mother Church the expense of its religious broadcasts—extending now to several countries—and the nation-wide American network program, "The Christian Science Monitor Views the News," sponsored by The Christian Science Publishing Society.

From small beginnings these two types of program have grown as their value was tested until they now reach many millions of people weekly, a large proportion of whom undoubtedly would not be hearing of Christian Science without them. The fruitage from these programs, in healing and the broadening of interest in Christian Science and The Christian Science Monitor, has been abundant.

The interest of Christian Scientists in this radio-casting is shown by substantial contributions already made to the Radio Fund, and by inquiries as to its further needs and the possible desirability of periodical contributions to it. As those familiar with radiocasting will understand, the cost of the programs is necessarily large. It is, of course, a continuing cost.
