It is with much gratitude that I testify that five generations of my family have known and been blessed by Christian Science. My grandmother kept Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy by her side and read it continually. My mother received instruction from one of the early teachers of Christian Science. One summer while she was motoring in the East with my sister during an epidemic of infantile paralysis, my sister was suddenly stricken with all the symptoms of that dread disease. My mother turned at once for help to Christian Science. In a Journal she found the name of a practitioner in the city where they had stopped, and she asked for treatment for my sister. In a week they were both back home again, with my sister completely healed.
When my own daughter was a young girl, she became seriously ill during the Christmas holidays, and I immediately called a practitioner. Within three days the child was well enough to come downstairs to the living room, and the healing was soon complete. This daughter, now married, has served her church in many capacities and is bringing up her four children in Christian Science.
For myself, I am humbly grateful for the privilege I have had of serving in four Churches of Christ, Scientist, also as Christian Science Welfare Worker in a large Veterans' Hospital. My own healings through the application of Christian Science have been numerous. I have been healed of chronic constipation, hemorrhoids, neuritis, displaced lumbar vertebra, and hay fever. Although the latter was years in yielding, it was completely healed when I rose high enough spiritually to see and overcome the unlovely traits of character which held me in bondage.
