I am very grateful for Christian Science and for the blessings which have come to me and my family through this wonderful truth. It was while my husband was serving in the armed forces overseas that I caught my first glimpse of this great truth.
Our little girl was being cared for by her grandparents, and when she went to live with them, her grandmother asked me if I objected to her being taught Christian Science. I told her "No," that as long as the child was living there, she was to be treated as one of her own. I made the mental reservation, however, that when I brought her home she could forget Christian Science and could attend the orthodox church that I had attended when a child. Instead. I was the one who changed, and I am ever grateful for all the blessings that have been mine through Christian Science. Wonderful peace of mind came with the unfoldment of the great truth that God is Life, Love, Principle, and that His law is ever operating.
Shortly after our little boy was born, I was informed that I had a tumor, which might necessitate surgery. At first the suggestion came, Oh, well, don't worry about it; those things usually disappear. However, I realized that would be accepting the condition as real, and what I needed to know was more of the truth concerning God and his reflection, man. I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner, and I did quite a bit of work and study, using the Concordances. About two weeks later I experienced what would be called mental surgery. The growth was expelled. My husband wanted me to go to the physician for a final examination, and in fairness to him I agreed to go. Upon examination, the physician informed me there was no sign of the tumor. He was amazed. I had been very grateful all day, but on leaving the doctor's office, I wanted to shout to the whole world that I knew God was All.
