Gratitude fills my consciousness for the many blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science. On many occasions I have proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in Science and Health (p. 66), "Trials are proofs of God's care." For over twenty years Christian Science has been relied on wholly in meeting my needs, including health, employment, and supply. A negative mental outlook which I had in my youth was gradually replaced in later years by greater confidence and an expectancy of good. I have experienced complete deliverance from the tobacco habit and the use of alcoholic beverages, and I have attained greatly improved health as a result of Christian Science study.
For years I have relied on Christian Science exclusively in knowing my right place in the business world. A testing time came about seven years ago when an organization I then managed began quickly to crumble, due to certain adverse war conditions. After two months of prayerful work, and with the aid of a loving practitioner, a new position unfolded, which during the ensuing years has provided a steadily enlarging opportunity for unusually broad and useful executive service. In this instance the mortal law of being "over age" for new employment was proved nonexistent. Another mortal handicap, that I had had no actual experience in industrial business for fifteen years, was also put aside.
Probably the most important benefit secured from Christian Science has been the protection afforded me. Discordant conditions which formerly seemed to arise as a matter of course now seldom manifest themselves, due to my more spiritualized thinking. Among the physical healings I have experienced is that of a very deep-rooted chronic condition of constipation. This was completely healed over fifteen years ago and has not recurred.
