"Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it." So writes the Revelator (3:8). This open door reveals the way Godward, the true way of Life, the open way of infinite good, forever unobstructed by the false presentments of a way apart from God.
With the crucifixion of Jesus, the enemies of Truth hoped to close this door. But it was kept open first by the disciples who witnessed his resurrection and ascension and later by those spiritually-minded ones who perceived the spirit of the Christ, which Jesus exemplified, and understood that it lives throughout eternity.
In our own day, when the effects of a serious accident threatened her life, Mary Baker Eddy turned to her Bible, and there through revelation and inspiration she discerned the door standing wide open for her entrance into the demonstrable understanding of Truth and Love. Our Leader hastened to enter its portals, and after receiving her healing she devoted time, thought, and energy toward making the way of Life so plain that none need miss it.
