In the textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read (p. 233): "Every day makes its demands upon us for higher proofs rather than professions of Christian power. These proofs consist solely in the destruction of sin, sickness, and death by the power of Spirit, as Jesus destroyed them. This is an element of progress, and progress is the law of God, whose law demands of us only what we can certainly fulfil."
Since my last testimony, which was published in 1946, there has been rapid spiritual growth and understanding in our family. And I feel that I must again express our gratitude and happiness for Christian Science and for our forever Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who through her unselfed devotion and study of the Bible was able to give Christian Science to the world. Mrs. Eddy gave us the key to the Scriptures so that we today may know how to apply the truth, which Jesus taught two thousand years ago, with healing results.
In the raising of our family Christian Science has been invaluable. Four children and a grandchild have all been protected from so-called contagious diseases. Any symptom that tried to manifest itself was met either through our own understanding or through treatment from a Christian Science practitioner. By our study of the ninety-first Psalm and of what our Leader says regarding contagion on pages 228 and 229 of "Miscellaneous Writings" all fear disappeared, and we have been protected through the years.
