Nearly fifty years ago I became interested in Christian Science through the healing of my sister of a severe bowel and nervous trouble. When she wrote me of her healing I felt that she had departed from my mother's faith and lost her soul. Her reply was that she had not lost but found Soul. She sent me a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and I began reading it with much fear. It was some time before I fully accepted Christian Science; but during this time I had proofs of its healing power, for my children were healed of croup and bowel trouble, and one son was healed of the aftereffects of scarlet fever. Gradually my own healings of stomach and liver trouble, extreme nervousness, and of misplaced organs came.
I have been helped by Science in many ways. It has aided me in bringing up my family and given me strength and support in my work as a schoolteacher and in the business world.
My uncle at the age of eighty-two was healed of paralysis of the lower part of his body and Bright's disease in the last stages. He was also healed of eczema. At this same time a sister had an instantaneous healing of quinsy.
