From the June 1952 issue of The Christian Science Journal

During the past several years the Committee on Christian Science Wartime Activities of The Mother Church has been grateful for the generous supply of used clothing sent in by branches and individuals in the Field for Christian Scientists in countries where the effects of war have caused hardships. In many countries the most urgent need has now been met, and therefore it will not be necessary to continue the large-scale relief work conducted by The Mother Church through the offices of the Committee on Christian Science Wartime Activities. However, there still are areas where material assistance is needed, and branches of The Mother Church in the Field wishing to do so are invited to participate in sending clothing parcels directly to those churches and societies overseas which have indicated a need therefor, rather than send them to Boston for forwarding. This procedure has been followed heretofore by a number of churches and societies in the United States.

On request, the Committee on Christian Science Wartime Activities will furnish names of churches or societies overseas, as well as addressed labels for the parcels. No clothing should be sent directly to an individual unless the individual and the circumstances are definitely known to the sender. Otherwise, a proper check should be made through the Committee on Christian Science Wartime Activities in order to discourage unwarranted soliciting by individuals or groups.

The address of the Committee on Christian Science Wartime Activities is One, Norway Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts.
