It was just a little over sixty years ago that I came to this country seeking health. I was disappointed at that time, however, for the climate failed to benefit me. But the following year I heard of Christian Science for the first time, and through reading the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was lifted out of all my troubles. Later, when nervous prostration and complete exhaustion made it impossible for me to carry on, a consecrated Christian Science practitioner whom I called upon for help called my attention to these words in the textbook (p. 412): "The power of Christian Science and divine Love is omnipotent. It is indeed adequate to unclasp the hold and to destroy disease, sin, and death." I was healed instantly when this passage was presented to my thought.
I have witnessed and experienced healings of many discordant conditions and have never ceased to be grateful to God for all the blessings Christian Science has brought to me. Among them are the following: the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, class instruction, the periodicals, including The Christian Science Monitor from the date of its first issue, a home where all are sincere students of Christian Science, and an unforgettable visit to the. Christian Science Benevolent Association Sanatorium at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
To our beloved Leader for her vision and tireless patience in establishing the Christian Science movement for the benefit of all mankind I am most sincerely grateful.— Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
