"Praise God, from whom all blessings flow" are the opening words of the doxology which was sung every Sunday morning in the church I attended as a child. However, it was not until years later that I really began to understand how to "praise God." In fact, I had only a faint idea of just what God is and no idea where He is. Nor did I know how to claim the blessings which flow from the eternal source.
During the twenty-five years I have been a student of Christian Science I have had many proofs that our blessings flow more fully as we understand what God is and where He is. I came to the fountain of good, from which all blessings flow, with my bottles all full of old wine, of which Mary Baker Eddy writes in her inimitable way in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (pp. 281, 282): "Our false views of matter perish as we grasp the facts of Spirit. The old belief must be cast out or the new idea will be spilled, and the inspiration, which is to change our standpoint, will be lost."
To the extent that I apply the little spiritual understanding which I gain day by day is this old wine (error) being replaced by the new wine (inspiration), by joy, freedom, health, abundance, unselfishness, love, and good deeds.
