Of Such Is the Kingdom

From the March 1953 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We went to see the Master yesterday.
We heard him tell of God's dear love for all
And watched him heal the sick folk where they lay.
They all got well when first they heard his call
Commanding them to rise.

And then we went—
Our mother took us nearer as he bid.
He put his hand on me, and then he bent
And drew my timid little sister near.
He blessed us with a tender, loving smile.
In him we felt the love of God appear
And knew we live in heaven all the while.
We see our parents keep us safe from harm;
We watch each mother animal protect
Her little ones and hold them close and warm.
This is so like the Love which we reflect.
In truth it seems so natural just to know
That God is here right now and fills all space;
That everything, wherever we may go,
Is truly perfect—here and in each place.
