SUBMISSION TO TRUE LAW

From the April 1953 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Mary Baker Eddy writes in "No and Yes" (p.11): "Man has an immortal Soul, a divine Principle, and an eternal being. Man has perpetual individuality; and God's laws, and their intelligent and harmonious action, constitute his individuality in the Science of Soul."

Spiritual law is immortal. There is never a moment in time or eternity when it can be said that God and His eternal laws are not in action. It is comforting to know that man expresses spiritual laws and their perpetual and harmonious action.

Mortals are educated to believe that they are the outcome of material laws, that they are made up of material organs and subject to disturbance, discord, mortality, and death. Such, however, is not the truth as the Science of being reveals it. Man is spiritual, and the laws that govern him—God's laws—are spiritual, harmonious, and eternal. The practical proof of this is apparent to mortals by the correction of discords through the application of divine law as found in Christian Science. One's understanding of spiritual law annuls the claims of material so-called law and releases him from its effects.
