If I were asked to tell of all the wonderful...

From the May 1953 issue of The Christian Science Journal

If I were asked to tell of all the wonderful blessings that have come to me and mine through the teachings of Christian Science, I should have to say with the Psalmist (Ps. 40:5), "They are more than can be numbered." When Christian Science was presented to me thirty-four years ago I accepted it with my whole heart, for I knew it was the truth.

A short time afterward I was suddenly stricken with a disease which left me almost helpless and caused me great suffering. My husband and his parents knew nothing about Christian Science, and they were very fearful. They urged me to consult a doctor; so to please them I consented to a medical diagnosis.

The doctor said that I had the worst case of toxemia he had ever seen, that it had just about reached my heart, and that nothing could be done for me. When he asked me if I was afraid I said, "No, for I am going to have help in Christian Science, and I know it will heal me." With great pity he said, "I'm afraid this is something that nothing can heal." I immediately got in touch with a practitioner. In less than two months I was completely healed, and my friends commented many times on how well I was looking.
