I had the privilege of being brought up in Christian Science and of attending Sunday School from the age of six. I could scarcely begin to tell here of the countless blessings and healings which have taken place in my own experience and that of my family.
When I first began to work after leaving school, I strayed from the teachings of Christian Science and took up smoking. Also I believed there was something physically wrong with me and made frequent visits to the doctor. He could find nothing wrong but suggested the use of tonics and vitamins. After a year of reliance on these material remedies, during a period of extreme nervousness, weariness, and depression, I called on a Christian Science practitioner for help. Through her work the healing of these conditions soon came.
My husband and I then moved to another city, and I was faced with loneliness, homesickness, false responsibility, and a feeling of guilt because I was still smoking. A great desire for more spiritual understanding came to me, and a practitioner was found who led me lovingly and joyously back to a consecrated study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings. I applied for and obtained membership in a branch church, which has been a source of joy and an opportunity to serve God. I am grateful to be a member of The Mother Church also.
