It is wonderful and comforting to know that Christian Science is indeed the second appearing of the Christ, Truth, on earth today and that it is able to heal every ill. Of this healing truth I have had many proofs. It has protected and guided me throughout my life and has supplied my every need. I have proved many times that when personal sense and human outlining have been given up, God's plan unfolds in all its wisdom, joy, and satisfaction.
I am most grateful for the healing of grief at the sudden passing on of my mother. I had always thought that when this experience came I should never be able to bear it. But by my endeavor to help another through a similar experience and by a deep and consecrated study of the chapter entitled "Science of Being" in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy the healing came. I had never before felt God's presence so near to me, strengthening, comforting, and supporting.
Another experience for which I am deeply grateful was the healing of our eldest boy of a most serious dogbite. He was three years old at the time and had been a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School for six months. Being extremely fond of dogs, he had approached a strange one tied outside a grocery store. The dog attacked him with a great deal of snarling and bit him severely in the face, the teeth sinking in just below the child's eye. Several people heard the noise and saw what had happened and, quite alarmed, immediately suggested that medical treatment be given.
