Testimonies of Healing

"Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all...

From the January 1954 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies" (Ps. 103:1-4). With the Psalmist I offer my heartfelt thanksgiving for all God's tender mercies.

I pray that my life may be an expression of gratitude to Christ Jesus for marking out the way of salvation from sin, disease, and death. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy, God's messenger to this age, for interpreting the words and works of Christ Jesus, for discovering the lost art of divine healing, and for making clear that divine service is a daily affair, in which our Christianity is to be applied to all our activities.

In Christian Science I found the spiritual comfort which I was seeking and had been unable to find in the orthodox churches. In addition I have been healed of many physical difficulties. Lack and discouragement have been overcome and so has fear of being alone at night or in isolated places. The healing of sick headaches was slow, but when I was working on this problem, impatience, resentment, and other undesirable characteristics were destroyed.
