"FROM A BOUNDLESS BASIS"

From the January 1954 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 258),"God expresses in man the infinite idea forever developing itself, broadening and rising higher and higher from a boundless basis." Progressive study of Christian Science will lead the consecrated student to apprehend quickly that neither the Bible, nor Science and Health and our Leader's other writings, nor any of the authorized Christian Science periodicals, contain anything that could limit, restrict, or repress the understanding of absolute Truth and its demonstration.

When Mrs. Eddy discovered Christian Science, in the year 1866, she brought to the world the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus. This Comforter is God's revelation of Himself as All-in-all. Because it reveals God as All-in-all, Christian Science is a complete revelation. Science and Health is a complete statement of this revelation, explaining it clearly for any sincere student to understand and demonstrate.

Because Science and Health teaches the allness of God, a daily study of its contents increasingly lifts one above the limitations imposed by the so-called human mind. In proportion as the student understands God's allness he sees the boundlessness of true being. Working from this "boundless basis," he has no desire to yield to the temptation which would suggest that unauthorized literature—printed or in manuscript—can give him further understanding of Christian Science.
