For a long time I have been wanting to express my gratitude for all the blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science, gratitude for the peace, happiness, and health experienced during many years. I hope that this testimony will give to God the glory due His holy name and that it will bring a message of love, confidence, and courage to those who are on the pathway from sense to Soul.
When I was twenty years old, I heard of Christian Science through an acquaintance who had been healed by it. I began to study the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and went as often as possible to the Sunday services and Wednesday evening testimony meetings at a Church of Christ, Scientist.
My first demonstration of the power of good over evil was an instantaneous healing of burns on my legs, the effect of boiling water which had been spilled on me. Another healing was that of wounds made on my hands when I was severely bitten by a dog. The shock and the sight of the startled people around me frightened me so that I could hardly stand up. However, I refused medical attention and disinfectant, since I was certain of the presence of God, my Father, and of the activity of Truth. I went off by myself with my hands merely wrapped in cloth. This took place on a Sunday. The following Tuesday I resumed my normal activities. Later, with the help of a practitioner, nervous troubles were also overcome.
