For the peace and harmony which have come into my experience through the study and application of Christian Science, I offer this testimony in the hope that it will help someone in need. Christian Science solves every problem confronting mankind, whether physical, mental, moral, or financial, and I never cease to be grateful to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for her unselfed love in giving her revelation to the world.
During my childhood, my health was considered to be delicate, and fear, anxiety, and impatience troubled me. I attended an orthodox Sunday School, but I could not reconcile the teaching that God was all-powerful, Almighty Being, with the conflicting teaching that there was also a powerful devil, or evil, which had to be overcome. My life was one of constant recurrences of sickness and inharmony and was almost futile and purposeless to me. My state of thought concerning God became almost agnostic during my high school and college days. I lost all interest in religion and discontinued church attendance altogether.
After my marriage my health became very poor, and I sought the help of different doctors over a period of time to no avail. I continued my office work during the first year of marriage to help out financially, but finally was forced through ill-health to give up my position. I had not really prayed for years, but now I turned wholeheartedly to God, seeking His guidance. I took up the study of Mrs. Eddy's teachings and requested help of a practitioner. Through her loving work, dominion over delicate health was realized, and I experienced many healings, including those of constipation of twenty years' standing, toothache, colds, influenza, nervous indigestion, and effects of accidents. Our car was returned to us after it had been stolen, and the realization that divine Mind is the only source of supply brought us financial abundance.
