I am grateful for the coming into my life of a Christian Science student who demonstrated in daily living that this Science has something for mankind which cannot be found anywhere else.
After I had been studying Science and attending a branch church for some time, the invitation to apply for church membership, which was read from the desk, found me wanting to apply, but doubting my readiness and worthiness to take this step. This state of thought went on for about two years. Then one day I picked up a small copy of the New Testament, which I kept in my desk, and it opened at Hebrews (2:3), "How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?" I immediately took the necessary steps for membership in a branch church and was accepted. The following year I was accepted as a member of The Mother Church.
Many blessings have followed the taking of these steps. I am especially grateful for the guidance and protection I daily receive from the study and application of Christian Science. Many years ago when I had been almost a year without employment, I asked for help from a practitioner, and in less than a week I found a temporary position. Later, guided by spiritual understanding, I made use of a short vacation to come to Boston, Massachusetts, in order to visit The Mother Church.
