DEMONSTRATING MAN'S COMPLETENESS

From the October 1956 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In human experience one often seems beset with many discords. He appears to be physical, subject to fear, disease, and a multitude of other inharmonies, and he feels incomplete.

Christian Science teaches that man is not physical but wholly spiritual, the perfect and complete expression of perfect Mind. This Science shows that man is not imprisoned in a material body, but is the spiritual, harmonious, and constant expression of God. Paul writes (Col. 2:10), "Ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power." On page 527 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy writes, "Man is God's reflection, needing no cultivation, but ever beautiful and complete."

Christian Science reveals that man is Spirit's compound idea, activated and governed by the divine Mind, and shows that the limited and discordant views of man as mortal are false human concepts. Christian Science refutes material falsities on the basis of their unreality. Only God and His ideas constitute reality. On this basis, the student of Christian Science strives to demonstrate in his human experience man's completeness.
