Testimonies of Healing

In humble gratitude I can say with Job...

From the October 1956 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In humble gratitude I can say with Job (19:25), "I know that my redeemer liveth."

I had the privilege of growing up in a Christian Science home and was healed of numerous so-called childhood ailments. When a dray horse stepped on my chest after I had fallen from his back, no X rays were taken and no medical aid whatsoever was relied on. My own childlike faith in God and in Christian Science helped to bring about this healing, even though the material evidence at first was almost overwhelming to my mother, who was called to do prayerful work for me. Soon the only trace of this occurrence was a scar the shape of a horseshoe which was visible on my chest for several years. I am grateful to state that even that evidence of an accident is now completely gone.

I saw my sister healed of a stroke of paralysis. One side of her body had become useless, but my mother held to the truth of God and His idea, man, as she had learned to do in Christian Science. Within a comparatively short time my sister was completely free and returned to her favorite sport of horseback riding. There has been no suggestion of a return of the paralysis in the thirty or more years since this healing.
