The blessings which have unfolded to me as the natural fruits of a consecrated study of Christian Science would fill many columns. But the blessings I count most precious are spiritual ideas of joy, serenity, health, freedom from fear, and the substitution of compassion and understanding for a tendency to criticize.
On my first visit to a Christian Science Reading Room I dropped the major part of a heavy burden of self-condemnation, grief, and bitterness over a broken home. However, several months passed by before I returned to the Reading Room. Attacks of sciatica had confined me to my bed for long periods at a time. Added to this was the medical verdict of an incurable heart condition for which I took prescribed drugs, in spite of the fact that swelling and an unsightly and painful rash resulted.
One morning I awoke with this condition greatly exaggerated. My fear was so great I could not think coherently, but it came to me that in the Reading Room I would find a solution to my problem. The librarian told me a Christian Science practitioner would be glad to help me, and I visited one that afternoon. The sciatica, rash, and confused thinking were healed instantaneously.
