It is my great desire to express in this way my gratitude for all the help I receive through the study of Christian Science and for all the healings I have experienced, not only of illness but of other difficulties as well. I do not see now how I could ever live without Christian Science. I am happy to have gained a little insight into this wonderful teaching, which through Mary Baker Eddy's inspired writings has been made available to us all.
I should like to tell about some of the healings which my family and I have experienced. For about two years I had almost constant pain in my stomach. Despite my endeavor to apply what I had learned in Science, the condition troubled me day and night. I turned to a good friend who is a Christian Science practitioner, and she promised to help me. Very shortly I was freed from my fear, and then the pain ceased entirely. There has been no recurrence of the trouble.
Another healing was that of a growth as big as a cherry on my right wrist. It was a great hindrance to me and bothered me, for instance, when I wanted to put my hand on the table to write. I set aside at a regular time each day at least an hour in which to study the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. One night the growth disappeared, and there was not a trace left of it, though it had been on my wrist for at least three years. I had not asked the help of a practitioner; so I credit my study of Science and Health with this healing.
