Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in Science and Health (Pref., p. xi), "The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus' time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation."
My first testimony, published in the Christian Science Sentinel of June 5, 1943, told of the healing of cancer. Now I want to share a few more of my experiences along the road from sense to Soul.
A wonderful healing was that of an injured leg. The friend who was helping me asked me to repeat the words of the hymn beginning (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 139), "I walk with Love along the way," a hymn which I have always loved. When I came to the line, "I feel God's presence with me here," I stopped and declared that because God's presence fills all space, there cannot be any room for pain. I tried to realize that God's presence includes health, happiness, wisdom, purity, and freedom. As I held to these qualities I felt the presence of God with me, and all pain ceased. In a few days the swelling was gone, and the leg was well.
