THE WAY OF SALVATION

From the April 1957 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Throughout the centuries many creeds and theories have been set forth to help mankind find salvation. Christian Science offers a way to attain the desired goal of salvation, a way that redeems and regenerates by teaching mankind how to overcome sin, sickness, disease, and death.

The Christianly scientific way of working out one's salvation is filled with joy. A great expectancy of good, not the gloomy prospects of sufferings and trials, accompanies each forward step. The Christ, Truth, is tenderly calling to each one to learn to walk in the way of salvation with joy and gladness.

On page 593 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy defines "salvation" as, "Life, Truth, and Love understood and demonstrated as supreme over all; sin, sickness, and death destroyed." Right here, right where we are today, Life, Truth, and Love come to us to be understood and demonstrated as supreme over the beliefs of the flesh and the sin of mortality.
