LIFE HID WITH CHRIST

From the October 1961 issue of The Christian Science Journal

PAUL wrote to the Colossians:"Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God" (3:2,3).

In Christian Science we learn that Christ is the activity of the divine Mind quickening the human consciousness. It awakens. It heals. It regenerates. It reveals man as the perfect reflection of the all-acting Mind, God. In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 583) "Christ" is defined as, "The divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error."

The Christ manifests God. It comes to the flesh. It destroys error. It is constantly transforming human consciousness. We are truly alive only as we participate in this ceaseless activity which is the transforming office of the Christ. In the measure that we are Christian Scientists, the Christ purpose is being fulfilled in our human experience. Changes are taking place which evidence the infinite, limitless nature of reality. We are alive in Christ. But if spiritual transformation is not taking place, we have yet to find our life.
