Christian Science was brought to the attention of my aunt, with whom I was living, while I was still a young child. The neighbor responsible for this kind act cheerfully consented to stay with me one afternoon when I was confined to bed with a severe head cold. After she had told me about and had read to me "the scientific statement of being" from page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I began to feel better. I asked her several times to repeat the passage, which contains the sentence, "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness," and she did so until I fell asleep. I awoke well.
My aunt sent me to the Christian Science Sunday School for a short time. Later the home was broken up, and I drifted away from Science, although at times I did attend a lecture and an occasional Sunday service as long as I lived in a place where there was a branch church.
However, after many years of yearning for some assurance of God's goodness, a compelling force led me back to Christian Science, although I was still unaware of all that it could do for me. I soon joined a branch church and gained some understanding of this religion of salvation, the true way of Life. I have since had many physical healings, and I have learned to discern and heal many unpleasant traits of character.
