A SCIENTIFIC RESOLUTION

From the January 1962 issue of The Christian Science Journal

INDIVIDUALS at one time or another and for one reason or another are apt to make resolutions for better actions. Often, as in the parable of the sower related by the Master, many of these resolutions fall by the wayside or, as Jesus picturesquely described it, wither away because they have no root or are choked by thorns (see Matt. 13). On the affirmative side, however, the seed planted in good soil flourishes and multiplies.

What is the good soil that makes for sturdy growth and fruition? Is it not a consciousness of the supremacy and omnipresence of God, good, and of man's inescapable unity with all good? With such a basis for resolutions for right action and progress, success is invariably the rule.

Through Christian Science individuals are learning the true nature of God as infinite Spirit and of man as God's spiritual, perfect expression. By standing for this indivisible relationship of perfect cause and perfect effect, many have experienced dominion, freedom, and progress beyond measure.
