GOD'S PRODUCTIVE IDEAS

From the January 1962 issue of The Christian Science Journal

IN the Sermon on the Mount, Christ Jesus said: "Take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? . . . But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matt. 6:31, 33). When we dedicate ourselves to this seeking and to the expression of spiritual ideas by being receptive to them and studying how to apply them, our understanding and unfoldment of supply increase.

The belief of life in matter would rob us of man's heritage of abundance as the child of God, Spirit. It would suggest that limitations are real, that opportunities for employment are scarce, that advancement is impossible, that there is not enough good to go around.

Infinite Principle is the only cause, or origin. Therefore man, who is made in the image and likeness of God, divine Principle, represents divine power. He is resourceful and original. Because this is the truth, we can in our daily experience speak with divine authority to any aggressive mental suggestion of lack or limitation and refuse to admit it into our thinking.
