It is with ever-growing gratitude for Christian Science that I submit this testimony. Not a day in recent years has passed without affording evidence of divine protection, guidance, or healing.
At one time when my husband was mowing a neighbor's lawn for her, she asked him to open a tightly sealed jar. He removed his wedding ring in order to get a firmer grip on the lid. Later he stooped to pick up the ring from the grass where he had laid it and could not find it. Both he and the neighbor searched the grass for the ring and even sifted the grass clippings, but they could not find it.
In the five subsequent months we held to the truth that an idea of God, of which the ring was but a symbol, is never lost. We declared that man cannot lose anything inherent in his spiritual identity, for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, assures us in Science and Health, "It is impossible that man should lose aught that is real, when God is all and eternally his" (p. 302). Then one morning when my husband was again helping our neighbor in the yard, he returned to the spot where he had lost the ring, stooped down, and picked it up.
