Gratitude for blessings received through the ministrations of Christian Science for more than seventy years prompts me to submit this testimony.
During the Second World War, I was employed by the American Red Cross and spent thirty months on various islands of the Pacific. It was also my privilege to serve the Cause of Christian Science as a volunteer Wartime Worker, now called Minister for the Armed Services. I witnessed many instances of protection and healing. Contact with The Mother Church was a guiding and uplifting influence, for which I have been profoundly grateful ever since.
Among my duties on one of the islands was that of expediting the building of service clubs. I also had to furnish and staff them. The construction of the buildings was done by military personnel, while all equipment and furniture came from the United States mainland.
