"THE LOGIC OF EVENTS"

From the June 1962 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Do the events that comprise the experiences of human beings follow one another in a logical order, or do they just occur in haphazard fashion? We may well ask, "Is there a reasonable, acceptable explanation for each circumstance as to time and place?"

In the Science of being, every experience is like each note in a scale, having its place in sequence and unable to precede or follow aught except the notes directly next to it. It is unable to change places with another note in the scale.

Christian Science dispels the mental darkness of the ages that looks for a material cause for the universe and man and which culminates in the theory of life evolved by material atomic energy—the theory that would attribute effect to nonintelligence and material motion. This Science throws the light of understanding on the Scriptures and explains that the great First Cause, or I AM, must be Mind and that creation is Mind's unfoldment of eternal truth or ideas. In this scientific view of creation it must be seen that every event in God's kingdom would necessarily follow in logical order, the lesser idea always being linked to the greater and all expressing God's love for His ideas.
