The power of God's loving and tender...

From the April 1965 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The power of God's loving and tender care for His children is becoming more and more evident to me as a result of the daily study and practice of the teachings of the Bible and of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The following experience is one of many sources of inspiration and progress.

A few years ago a telephone call from school informed us that our son had been injured on the playground and that he might have a broken collarbone. Immediately I began to replace all wrong concepts involved in this situation with the truths of being I had learned in Christian Science. This accident seemed a reversal of the protection the children had experienced during many years, and now the thought of discouragement was especially aggressive. However, I was able to pray quietly while my husband picked our son up at school. Discouragement and fear soon left my thought, replaced by confidence in God.

When the boy arrived home, we saw that unless he held his arm and shoulder very steady he was in much pain. Because my husband is not a student of Christian Science, I was willing to have a doctor consulted. But my husband did not insist upon medical care, and for this I am grateful.
