It is with deep gratitude for our religion...

From the June 1965 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with deep gratitude for our religion that I testify to its healing and protecting power. How very much we owe to Mrs. Eddy for her tireless effort in presenting this understanding of God to the world! In the rearing of two children, I have found my religion an invaluable aid. Never a day passes but some discord is smoothed out, and I can say, "Thank You, dear God." I am grateful not only that Science has been available to meet the needs of our children but that through their questions I have had to dig deeper for a real understanding of its teachings.

We have had numerous healings of various natures. Our son was troubled with bad dreams at night when he was young. When I awoke to the fact that this was a difficulty to be met and mastered, he and I began doing prayerful work about it. Each night I would sit by his bed and declare spiritual truths to him, assuring him that there is only one Mind and that Mind is God, good, and that therefore he had no other mind that could think ugly things and disturb his sleep. The condition was met, and he was not troubled with bad dreams any more.

Several years later this same son was healed of a broken arm through the prayerful work of a practitioner. Both bones were broken just below the elbow but within an hour were perfectly set, as verified by an X ray which his father, not a Scientist, insisted upon.
