The Comforter

John 15:26

From the June 1965 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Let Truth be thy Comforter
And, as well, thy messenger.
Give or take, make joy's avowal
Constant testimonial.

None can glimpse in matter's dark—
Ray of hope or vital spark
From that Mind's irradiance
Which lusters every circumstance.

But when good pervades the air,
All may drink at fountains where
Spirit's waters, in their flow,
Shine in dew or star in snow.

How these awesome glories feed
Mankind's most compelling need:
Love, which in the truth alone
Experienced, is fully known!
