"Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 162). This was proved in my experience many years ago.
When I was a young child I was partially paralyzed with infantile paralysis for several months. For many years thereafter, I suffered from what the physicians called aftereffects. I was sickly, one leg was shorter than the other, and I spent more time in bed than I did in school.
In my late teens I had a complication of diseases, a severe kidney ailment, inflammatory rheumatism, chronic backache, headache, and constipation, and I was seriously anemic. Three specialists agreed that I could never be well, lead a normal life, or be able to have a child. An operation on my spine, without much hope given that it could be successful, was suggested. But my parents would not give their consent.
