When God is seen with men to dwell,
And all creation makes anew,
What tongue can half the wonders tell,
What eye the dazzling glories view?
(Christian Science Hymnal, No. 384.)
What are the dazzling glories which, the poet implies, are beyond the power of tongue to tell? Are they not the divine ideas revealed in the consciousness of one aware of spiritual being, of one convinced of immortal selfhood as the reflection of omniscient Mind? God, creative Mind, is expressed in ideas characterized by wisdom, integrity, intelligence, and perfection. The ideas of Spirit are seen by the spiritual sense of creation. How can we become conscious of them when a mortal sense of creation declares that ignorance, dishonesty, and imperfection are real and powerful? By determining which sense is true.
