I always had a deep desire to be able to follow the Master's example. While I was not at first aware of it, the answer to my desire came during the early part of World War I, when two Christian Science women from Canada were guests in our home in England.
There being a great deal of sickness in our home, these two dear people, realizing our need, presented my mother with a copy of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, together with the Christian Science Quarterly. I witnessed a remarkable healing of a member of the family. Shortly after this we began to attend Christian Science lectures. My eyes were now being opened to the fact that we did indeed have a religion that could heal the sick today as in the days of Jesus.
I began to study Christian Science in earnest. During the years it has been my privilege to witness many healings accomplished through the scientific application of its teachings. The most outstanding healing in my own experience has brought me a great sense of peace.
