Over twenty five years ago I casually accepted an invitation, extended to several people by a Christian Science practitioner, to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. The readings from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, as well as the testimonies, so impressed me that I knew at once that Christian Science would fill my every need. I continued to attend both Sunday services and Wednesday meetings by myself, and then the practitioner told me pupils were accepted in the Sunday School up to the age of twenty. I enrolled immediately for some precious months of instruction.
About this time an unsightly complexion problem, which had defied diet, medicine, and chiropractic treatments, yielded to Christian Science treatment when all these remedies were put aside and the truths expressed to me by a practitioner were earnestly heeded.
During my youth I was ill every winter with severe pulmonary attacks, said to be inherited and likely to be fatal as they had been in my mother's case. Through daily study of the Lesson Sermon I learned that man inherits only and all good from God alone, and I have had no such attacks for over twenty years.
